Zinc integrates seamlessly with Comeet, bringing blockchain-backed automated reference checks to your talent acquisition suite. Here are the following steps you need to take to integrate Zinc with Comeet:
Step 1. Sign in to Zinc
If you don’t already have an account, choose from one of the sign-up options, such as Google, LinkedIn or email and password.
Step 2. Integrate with Zinc
When you’re ready to start referencing with Zinc, simply go into the settings in Comeet and click on Integrations under Process. Scroll to Assessment tools and and click on ‘Integrate’ under Zinc. From here, click ‘Copy API key’. You can either send this to someone in the Zinc team who will add it to your account or you can log into Zinc and click ‘Add API Key’ from the account tab. Go back to Comeet and click ‘Activate’. The button will turn green and say ‘Active’. Your integration is now fully set-up.
Step 3. Customise your reference questions
In the demo, we will have taken you through the questions most suited to your business, but you can customise them further or add multiple sets. Simply click the green button from the Questions tab and complete the following steps:
Decide whether you are going to reference pre- or post-offer.
Select one of the four different types of referencing we have: - Culture-add reference—Keep culture consistent whilst scaling - Remote-worker reference—Assessing remote teams requires trust - Competency reference—A tool to help filter the top 10% of applicants - Employment verification—No unnecessary paperwork, fast compliant reference.
Name your question set and click ‘finish’. You will then be able to view and edit your questions to customise your references.
We now have fully customizable question sets - so you can choose from free text, multiple-choice, Likert scale or yes/no. You can tailor the questions sets for each candidate or position by selecting them through Comeet (see step 5). Step 4. Add Zinc to your interview flow
Within a position you’ve created in Comeet you need to add Zinc as a stage in the interview flow. To do this, click the plus button next to ‘Offer’ and select Zinc from the ‘Interview’ drop down. You can drag and drop Zinc to the particular stage of the hiring process you’d like to reference your candidates. Alternatively if your interview flow already has ‘Reference Check’, simply click to open it and select Zinc from the interview drop down. You will need to add Zinc to each position separately, unless you’ve copied a position from a saved template.
Step 5. Send reference request
Once your candidate has reached the Zinc stage in the workflow and you’re ready to request references, click ‘Select test’. Choose the question set you’d like from the drop-down and and click ‘Start’. The number of references required will be stored in your question set in Zinc. You will need to request the references for each candidate separately. Zinc will pull the candidate’s name, email, and phone number from Comeet, and contact them via email and text to start the referencing process. Remember to let your candidate know that Zinc is your referencing provider and to look out for a message from us.
Step 6. Let Zinc work
Zinc will contact your candidate via email and text to ask for the contact details of their referees. The candidate is asked to digitally consent to the references being collected. We then contact the referees and ask them to complete the questions you have chosen. We send automated reminders to ensure that you get your references in good time. If you’d like to track the progress of references you can view this in the candidates profile by clicking ‘See on Zinc’. You’ll also be notified by email when a reference has been completed and can view them in a unique, shareable link.
Step 7. View reference insights
You can view the references directly in Comeet by clicking “See on Zinc” or “Open as a user on Zinc”. This will bring up the candidate’s page with verified references. Important things to note:
Let your candidates know what referencing software you’re using—they’ll reply much quicker if they know who Zinc is.
Provide a mobile number for the candidate if you can—this can speed up the process if the candidate doesn’t check their emails regularly. Please ensure the number is correct before submitting.
